Since its beginning, Council for Life has been committed to raising significant funds for non-profit agencies that share our mission of honoring the sanctity of life. To date, Council for Life has given more than $6.5 million. The 2016 Beneficiaries have been carefully selected. Each of these beneficiaries is committed to serving daily in implementing our mission of empowering women, men and youth to make life-affirming choices and to raising public awareness of this complex issue. CFL is grateful for the faith-based, compassionate services that these agencies provide and for their passionate commitment to the sanctity of life.

Aim for Success, founded by Marilyn Morris, provides young people the freedom to succeed by avoiding the risky behaviors of sexual activity, drugs and bullying. Since 1993, Dallas based Aim for Success has motivated, educated and entertained over two million young people with their life-changing presentations in schools and churches across the DFW Metroplex, Texas and beyond. Aim for Success promotes a lifestyle of excellence by encouraging the development of self-control, self-respect and self-discipline. Funds will be used for the XTREME program (which provides information about teen pregnancies and STDs) for students, parents and educators in the Grapevine-Colleyville Independent School District and computers and other equipment for presentations.

And Then There Were None was founded in 2012 by Abby Johnson, a former Planned Parenthood director, whose exit from the abortion industry in 2009 made national news. The mission of ATTWN is to help abortion clinic workers leave the abortion industry, thereby ending abortion from the inside out. Once a worker exits the abortion industry and proof has been received, ATTWN offers transitional financial assistance, legal protection and representation, professional resume writers, recruiters and counseling, and all-expenses paid healing retreats. Funds will be used for billboard campaigns strategically placed near abortion facilities in the Dallas area and transitional financial support for former abortion workers.
Catholic Pro-Life Committee of North Texas / prolifedallas.org
The mission of the Catholic Pro-Life Committee of North Texas, the Respect Life Ministry of the Diocese of Dallas, is to educate, unite and mobilize Catholics and all people of good will in the Diocese of Dallas to end abortion and restore respect and legal protection for every human life. Founded by Bishop Charles Grahmann in 1993, CPLC has been called the largest and most effective diocesan pro-life organization in the world and a model for the nation. Funds will be used for Project Gabriel, a ministry that addresses the spiritual, emotional and material needs of the woman facing a crisis pregnancy and provides a mentoring relationship built on friendship and care.
Curo Women’s Care Clinic of Grapevine, part of Human Coalition Dallas/Fort Worth, is a compassion-driven, lifesaving ministry. Curo’s mission is to reach abortion-determined women and men, link arms with them, and provide tangible help and care in order to rescue preborn children and their families from abortion. Curo provides free and confidential services such as prenatal support, sonograms, counseling, education, abortion recovery, material assistance and community referrals including adoption agencies. In addition to the Grapevine office, Curo utilizes a Women’s Mobile Unit to deliver their ministry and medical services across the DFW Metroplex. Funds will be used for Mobile Unit operating and maintenance costs.

Started in 2008, the purpose of Embrace Grace is to provide emotional, practical and spiritual support for single, young women who find themselves in an unintended pregnancy. The primary goal of Embrace Grace is to empower churches across the nation to be a safe and nonjudgmental place to which the girls can run when they find out that they are pregnant, instead of the last place due to the fear of shame and guilt. Whether the girl chooses to parent the child or bless another family with adoption, Embrace Grace is a support system for her in the journey. Embrace Grace provides curriculum and resources for their program to churches to implement and become a Pro-Love church. Funds will be used for the one-year salary of a new Groups Relations Manager and promotional marketing costs for exhibiting and workshops at conferences.

Founded in 2007 and located in Cedar Hill, Texas, Hope Mansion is a Christ- centered, residential home for pregnant women that uniquely addresses the mother’s despair and desperation. HopeMansionexiststobreakthechainof generational poverty and hopelessness by providing women in crisis, at no cost, a loving, structured environment, as well as the necessary time, resources and support for mothers and their babies to become productive, well-balanced citizens. Hope Mansion strives to empower these mothers physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually to possess life skills and a spiritual foundation for personal and parenting success. Funds will be used for the partial one-year salaries of two House Managers.

Founded in 2002 by Dan Bailey in Dallas, Texas, Just Say YES – Youth Equipped to Succeed uses a multiple program approach to equip, encourage and empower at-risk youth to thrive, pursue their dreams and avoid destructive behaviors. The mission of Just Say YES is to provide youth with factual and relational information equipping them to lead healthy and successful lives. Their speakers and resources cover a variety of topics, including bullying, teen pregnancy prevention, teen dating violence, high school dropout prevention, drug and alcohol abuse and self-image. Funds will be used for the partial one-year salary of a speaker for A Hope and a Future project that will provide upstream pregnancy prevention education and encouragement to teens in the Dallas area who are pregnant and/or are now young single mothers.

Formed in 2002 in Richardson, Texas, The LifeSavers Foundations exists to empower and assist those in crisis and is a faith-based approach to health and well-being for expectant mothers and young children. The LifeSavers Foundation takes their services to these pregnant women in the neighborhoods where they live and work to foster life-affirming decisions with their Community Mobile Sonogram program. This program consists of two recreational vehicles that travel weekly to various locations throughout the DFW Metroplex, providing free and confidential pregnancy testing, sonograms, counseling, educational materials, referrals and follow up to underserved women and teens. Funds will be used for renovation of the interiors of the two Community Mobile Sonogram units.

Since 2011, Pregnancy Help 4 U has offered free and confidential pregnancy testing, STD testing and treatment, sonograms and education to the community. Their mission is to help women in crisis pregnancies find life-affirming options through compassionate care and equipping them with resources to succeed in life, while sharing the love of Jesus Christ. Through their two clinics, Pregnancy Help 4 U serves women in Keller, Roanoke, North Fort Worth, Southlake, Argyle and North Richland Hills. Funds will be used for the one-year part-time salary of a Nurse Sonographer at the North Richland Hills clinic location.

Pregnancy Resource Center of Grand Prairie was founded in 1994 to reach women, couples and families in the community facing unplanned pregnancies and vulnerable to abortion through Christ’s truth and love. They bring their clients options, resources and education in a safe, caring and confidential environment. Services are provided at no charge and include life-affirming counseling, sonograms, STI screening, education programs, resources and referrals. Funds will be used for the one-year salary of a Client Services Manager.
Pregnancy Resource Center of Rockwall and Mesquite provides free and confidential counseling, pregnancy tests, sonograms, educational programs, material support, nurse consultation and post-abortion support. The Rockwall office began operations in 2000, with a Mesquite location opening in 2008. They assess their clients spiritually, emotionally and physically and strive to meet those needs and share the Gospel with each one. Funds will be used for interior makeover of the Mesquite office, including new paint, furniture and flooring, and technology upgrades.

Thrive Women’s Clinic, formerly Dallas Pregnancy Resource Center, began in 1983 as the first Dallas pregnancy clinic to provide an alternative to abortion. Their mission is extending Christ-like love in a compassionate and responsive manner that values the family and empowers women and their partners to choose life. Thrive addresses each client’s emotional, spiritual and physical needs with prayer and heartfelt nonjudgmental concern. Their goal is to empower each woman through education, resources and the Gospel to move beyond her present circumstances and choose life for her unborn child and life in Christ for herself. Operating in three locations in East Dallas, Central Dallas and West Dallas, Thrive offers a full medical clinic with nursing staff and doctors and free and confidential services, including pregnancy testing, sonograms, counseling, nutrition and childbirth classes, material support, post-abortion support and community referrals. Funds will be used for partial one-year salaries and professional development for the Clinic Services Program.

Serving the DFW community since opening in 2008, faith-based Angels Clinic is dedicated to nurturing the mind, body and spirit of women facing unplanned pregnancies by providing compassionate prenatal care and psychosocial support in a nonjudgmental environment. Their goal is to empower men and women to stand up to the challenge of an unplanned pregnancy from all aspects, including medical, emotional, spiritual and financial, by guiding them to the right resources. Angels Clinic services are free and confidential, including pregnancy testing, ultrasounds, STD and PAP screening, regular doctor checkups, emotional support, care packages and resources and Medicaid assistance. Funds will be used for the one-year salary of a part-time Obstetrics/Gynecology doctor.

Women’s Choice Resource Center is a Christ-centered, crisis pregnancy medical clinic, the mission of which is to value and protect the unborn and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with their clients. They are located in East Fort Worth and offer various free and confidential services, including pregnancy testing, ultrasounds, STD education, abstinence education, post-abortion counseling, material goods for expectant mothers and craft classes. All services are provided in English and Spanish. Funds will be used for layettes and one-year salaries for a Sonogram Technician and a Receptionist/Translator.
YoungLives is a special outreach started in 1991 for teenage girls facing unplanned pregnancies and operates in North Texas as part of the Young Life North Central Texas Region. The mission of Young Life is to introduce adolescents to Jesus Christ and help them grow in their faith. YoungLives brings together parenting teenagers with mature Christian women mentors. These mentors provide constant support throughout pregnancy and motherhood, offering friendship, parenting skills, access to community resources and guidance. The girls and their mentors regularly attend club similar to traditional Young Life clubs. The girls also have the opportunity to attend Bible Study and participate in a summer camping experience to have fun and learn about God alongside their babies ina far removed, beautiful setting. The unique YoungLives program provides girls from all socioeconomic backgrounds with encouragement, spiritual guidance and constant support. Funds will be used for two new YoungLives ministries in South Dallas.

Founded in 1879 and an adoption leader since 1884, Buckner International has placed more than 4,000 children in loving “forever” homes. Buckner is a ministry grounded in Christian principles that believes adoptionoffersapermanentand life-transforming act of love within a family. Buckner’s commitment to the miracle of adoption includes providing comprehensive services for both domestic and international adoptions to families before, during and after placement. Buckner Children and Family Services, a subsidiary of Buckner International, provides a full continuum of adoption and foster services, including international adoptions, domestic infant adoptions, Waiting Texas Children (children waiting for adoption through Child Protective Services) and Foster-to-Adopt and other foster care. Buckner remains committed to their mission of “protecting children, promoting independence and building strong families through Christ-centered values.” Funds will be used to provide partial one-year salary and other support for a North Texas Adoption Specialist position to recruit, train and educate prospective adoptive families about opportunities through the Domestic Infant Adoption and Waiting Texas Children programs.
Gladney Center for Adoption is a privileged leader in the care and service of domestic expectant mothers and birth mothers and the adoption placement of domestic and international children into stable, loving U.S. families. Since the mid- 20th century, Gladney’s formalized outreach and adoption awareness network has communicated with hundreds of thousands of teenage girls and young women experiencing an unplanned pregnancy. Over 40,000 of these teens and young women have chosen Gladney as their starting place. Their participationin Gladney’s First Steps program means hearing the adoption message, making an initial inquiry, fighting through the confusion, and finally feeling the peaceof choosing life for their unborn child through adoption placement rather than the finality of abortion. Approximately 50% of those teens and young women whose First Steps lead them to Gladney ultimately decide to parent their children. The remaining 50% complete their adoption plan, place their babies with loving families of their choosing, and have the opportunity to access Next Steps, Gladney’s preparatory program that provides them with concrete tools and loving support for achieving success in their lives after Gladney, as well as Gladney’s Post Adoption Services. Funds will be used for the one-year salaries of staffing positions and other support for the First Steps and Next Steps programs.
