Since its beginning, Council for Life has been committed to raising significant funds for non-profit agencies that share our mission of honoring the sanctity of life. To date, Council for Life has given more than $6.5 million. The 2017 Beneficiaries have been carefully selected. Each of these beneficiaries is committed to serving daily in implementing our mission of empowering women, men and youth to make life-affirming choices and to raising public awareness of this complex issue. CFL is grateful for the faith-based, compassionate services that these agencies provide and for their passionate commitment to the sanctity of life.

Founded in 1993 by Marilyn Morris, Dallas based Aim for Success helps young people avoid the risks of sexual activity, drugs and bullying through live presentations in schools, youth organizations and churches. Aim for Success promotes a lifestyle of excellence by encouraging the development of self- control, self-respect and self-discipline. Today, over two million teens, parents and educators across America have participated in an Aim for Success presentation. Their newest program, Focus on Success, teaches truth about technology, pornography, sexting and healthy relationships. Funds will be used to implement Focus on Success in DFW area churches and public and private schools of diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds.
Angels Clinic - The Venegas Medical Foundation / angelsclinic.org
Serving the DFW community since opening in 2008, Angels Clinic is dedicated to nurture the mind, body and spirit of women in need facing an unplanned pregnancy by providing compassionate prenatal care and psychosocial support in a nonjudgmental environment. Their goal is to empower men and women to stand up to the challenge of an unplanned pregnancy from all aspects, including medical, emotional, spiritual and financial, by guiding them to the right resources. Angels Clinic services are free and confidential, including pregnancy testing, ultrasounds, STD and PAP screening, regular doctor checkups, counseling, care packages to meet material needs, and resources such as Medicaid guidance. Funds will be used to offset Medical Doctor professional fees for delivering babies.

The mission of Birth Choice of Dallas is to save babies from abortion, to empower women and to build up stronger families. Among their free and confidential services provided are pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, STD testing, options counseling, prenatal, parenting, life skills and fatherhood classes, post-abortion recovery, community referrals and material assistance. The goal of Birth Choice is to expand their vision for more encompassing ways to address the needs in our community regarding issues of life, family, health and faith in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. They are strategically located in the same business complex as Southwestern Women’s Surgical Center which provides abortions through 20 weeks gestation. Funds will be used for increased operating costs, consisting of rent and phone system expenses, to meet the growing demand for Birth Choice’s services.

EvanTell, a Dallas based ministry, partners with believers around the world to ensure that every person has an opportunity to hear the Gospel in their heart language. Through in-person and online training and resources, EvanTell equips ministry partners, individuals, churches, academic institutions and over 700 Pregnancy Resource Centers to confidently share Christ. EvanTell’s program, Authentic Life: Our Needs – God’s Answers, equips Pregnancy Resource Centers to communicate to their clients the Gospel and healthy living in the context of core needs. Funds will be used to supply local Pregnancy Resource Centers with training materials and ongoing support to implement Authentic Life.

Founded in 2004 in Austin, Heroic Media’s mission is to help save lives from abortion. Heroic Media reaches women facing unplanned pregnancies through advertising and connects them with life-affirming organizations that can help them choose life for their unborn children. The two programs that Heroic Media uses are Google pay-per-click advertising that puts abortion-minded women in contact with Pregnancy Help Centers and internet video education that raises awareness about Pregnancy Help Centers as a resource to help with unexpected pregnancies. Funds will be used to air online video education and awareness programs via YouTube, TubeMogul and Facebook targeted at women in the Dallas area between the ages of 13 and 29 years old.

The mission of Hope Women’s Center is to affirm the life of the preborn by providing medical and educational services to teens and women in unplanned pregnancies, and those who significantly influence them, and encouraging Christ-centered, life-affirming decisions and healthy lifestyles. Founded in 2006 in McKinney, their complimentary and confidential services include pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, STD testing and treatment, options counseling, post-abortive support and community referrals. Funds will be used to secure accreditation as an ambulatory healthcare facility through the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) and to provide Sonography cross training to nurses to extend existing ultrasound services and hours.

Founded in 2002 by Dan Bailey in Dallas, Just Say YES – Youth Equipped to Succeed uses a multiple program approach to equip, encourage and empower teens to thrive, pursue their dreams and avoid destructive behaviors. The mission of Just Say YES is to provide youth with factual and relational information equipping them to lead healthy and successful lives. Their speakers and resources cover a variety of topics, including bullying, teen pregnancy prevention, teen dating violence, high school dropout prevention, drug and alcohol abuse and self-image. Funds will be used to deliver their Sexual Risk Avoidance education program, Empower to Choose the Best, to at-risk students in key Dallas County middle schools.
MetroplexWomen’sClinicservesthosefacingpregnancyrelatedandsexualhealth issues by offering physical, emotional and spiritual support, and empowering them to make healthy and life-affirming decisions. They have five clinic locations in Arlington and Mansfield (consisting of four centers and a mobile unit) that provide confidential and free services, including pregnancy testing, ultrasounds, options counseling, adoption and maternity home referrals, pregnancy and parenting classes, post-abortive support, and other community referrals and ongoing pregnancy support. Funds will be used for Nurse/Sonographer salaries to expand available sonogram hours.
Started in 1984, Mid Cities Pregnancy Center is located in Euless and Irving and has assisted over 90,000 women with a strong emphasis on those who are abortion-vulnerable and abortion-minded. They have two centers and a mobile clinic. Their goal is to empower individuals to make life-affirming choices that honor the value of human life and the hope found in Christ. Mid Cities Pregnancy Center’s complimentary and confidential services include pregnancy testing, ultrasounds, options counseling, parenting classes, sexual integrity programs and post-abortion counseling. Funds will be used for a Bilingual Receptionist salary to more effectively communicate with Spanish speaking clients and for a part-time Sonographer salary to increase hours for ultrasound services.

Pregnancy Lifeline has been providing free and confidential services to women and families in the Fort Worth community for 43 years. They minister through loving counsel, accurate information, pregnancy tests and sonograms, adoption and maternity home referrals, material assistance, post-abortion healing, parenting classes and a variety of other classes, resource referrals and ongoing support. Pregnancy Lifeline meets client needs through their agency and network partners with a goal to empower women to make life-affirming decisions and have a better life for their families. Funds will be used to purchase a second Sonogram machine due to their increased number of abortion-minded and abortion-vulnerable clients.

The mission of Pregnancy Resource Center of Rockwall and Mesquite is to equip women and their families with unplanned pregnancies to make life-affirming and informed choices by using Biblically based principles and to demonstrate the unconditional love of Jesus Christ. They offer free and confidential pregnancy tests, sonograms, STD/STI testing, counseling, pregnancy options information, pregnancy/parenting education, material support, community referrals and post-abortion support. The Rockwall office began operations in 2000, with a Mesquite location opening in 2008. They assess their clients spiritually, emotionally and physically and strive to meet those needs and share the Gospel with each one. Funds will be used for a Director of Development salary to address their dramatic increase in at-risk clients.

Thrive Women’s Clinic, formerly Dallas Pregnancy Resource Center, began in 1983 as the first Dallas pregnancy clinic to provide an alternative to abortion. Through their compassionate support of lay-counseling, education and medical services, Thrive empowers women and their partners to choose life for their unborn children and life in Christ for themselves. Each of Thrive’s three locations in East Dallas, Central Dallas and West Dallas is staffed with counselors and nurses. A number of licensed doctors who volunteer their services may be available for further medical assistance. Thrive offers free and confidential services, including pregnancy testing/pregnancy confirmation for Medicaid, sonograms, pregnancy options consultation, fatherhood, childbirth, parenting and infant care classes, material support and community referrals. Funds will be used for their Operations Manager salary in order for Thrive to continue serving and expanding their services to clients.
Since 1985, St. Joseph’s Helpers has been on the front lines of the pro-life movement. They operate three Dallas area White Rose Women’s Centers that provide support to abortion-minded and potentially abortion-minded women so they may choose life. White Rose Women’s Centers offer free and confidential services that include pregnancy tests, options counseling, ultrasounds, prenatal care and adoption referrals, post-abortion guidance, material and financial assistance, and additional resource referrals and follow-up care. Funds will be used for improvements and upgrades (including expanded waiting room, reception area and client meeting space and replacement of the HVAC system) at their Walnut Hill Lane/Greenville Avenue location (behind Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas headquarters across from Presbyterian Hospital) to meet the demands of the growing programs and services offered by this White Rose Women’s Center.

Serving women in the Fort Worth area for 20 years, Women’s Choice Resource Center is a Christ-centered, crisis pregnancy medical clinic whose mission is to value and protect the unborn and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with their clients. They are located in East Fort Worth and offer various free and confidential services, including pregnancy testing, ultrasounds, STD education, medical/ social referrals, craft classes, options counseling, post-abortion counseling, material goods and sexual health education. All services are provided in English and Spanish. Funds will be used for an Executive Director salary increase to secure and retain an experienced and qualified professional for this position.
YoungLives is a special outreach started in 1991 for teenage girls facing unplanned pregnancies and operates in North Texas as part of the Young Life North Central Texas Region. The mission of Young Life is to introduce adolescents to Jesus Christ and help them grow in their faith. YoungLives is a unique outreach program that brings together pregnant and parenting teen girls from all socioeconomic backgrounds with mature Christian women mentors. These mentors provide constant support and encouragement throughout pregnancy and motherhood, offering friendship, parenting skills, spiritual guidance and access to community resources. The girls and their mentors regularly attend club similar to traditional Young Life clubs. The girls also have the opportunity to attend Bible Study and participate in a summer camping experience to have fun and learn about God alongside their babies in a far removed, beautiful setting. Funds will be used for the growth and stabilization of YoungLives ministries in South Dallas.

Founded in 1879 and an adoption leader since 1884, Buckner International has placed more than 4,000 children in loving “forever” homes. Buckner is a ministry grounded in Christian principles that believes adoption offers a permanent and life-transforming act of love within a family. Buckner’s mission is to protect children, promote independence and build strong families through Christ- centered values. Buckner’s commitment to the miracle of adoption includes providing comprehensive services for both domestic and international adoptions to families before, during and after placement. Buckner Children and Family Services, a subsidiary of Buckner International, provides a full continuum of adoption and foster services, including domestic and international adoptions, Waiting Texas Children (children waiting for adoption through Child Protective Services) and Foster-to-Adopt and other foster care. Buckner provides a full range of post-adoption and counseling services to adoptees, birth families and foster and adoptive families to ensure the long-term sustainability of the families that Buckner helps to create. Funds will be used for the partial salary of an additional Counselor in the Dallas Post-Adoption and Counseling Center to address the growing need for post-adoption counseling.
