Overturning Roe: What It Means for Texas Women
Join us for the our Fall Neighborhood Outreach Evening Event as we discuss Overturning Roe: What It Means for Texas Women.
We will enjoy food, fellowship and festive beverages with an enlightening panel conversation and Q&A at the beautiful home of our gracious hostess.
Executive Director Tonya Thomas of local Pregnancy Resource Center Pregnancy Help 4 U, Dr. Ashely Womack, ObGyn at Arbor Vitae Health Care, and Council for Life staff will educate us about the reality of a post-Roe world for Texas women.
We will be collecting much needed Baby Essentials for Pregnancy Help 4 U to help the mamas and babies they lovingly serve— diapers, formula, wipes, pacifiers, bibs, onesies, bottles, car seats, pack n’ plays or Bibles for Mom and Jesus Storybook Bibles (English and Spanish). Please also consider purchasing Amazon Gift Cards to bring OR go online and purchase Amazon e-cards and forward them to Priscilla at poverton@councilforlife.org.

A passion for charity work is at the heart of Tonya’s personal and professional motto: “Do good. Pass it on.” Her most significant achievements involve helping others discover connections and purpose in everyday life. Tonya serves on the leadership team at her church, Good News International Christian Center, and helps spread the gospel through media ministry. She is living out the Great Commission daily, speaking truth and love into the hearts of the staff, volunteers, and women who come to the pregnancy center for help.
Dr. Womack is a proud Texas native. She was born and raised in Dallas, Texas where she attended St. Mark’s Catholic School and Ursuline Academy. Afterwards, she ventured to the University of Southern California to earn her degree in Sociology. Los Angeles is also where she learned about and fell in love with her Catholic faith.
Returning to her old stomping grounds, Dr. Womack attended medical school at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas and Parkland Hospital. During medical school, she became a NaProTechnology Medical Consultant after an intensive course through the St. Paul VI Institute in Omaha, Nebraska. She then completed her 4-year Obstetrics & Gynecology (ObGyn) residency at the University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical and Seton Hospital.
Dr. Womack decided to further advance her training in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery (MIGS) by completing an extra 2-year fellowship at the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Phoenix. This fellowship gave her subspecialized training in treating advanced gynecologic diseases. She gained extra skills in minimally invasive surgeries including restorative reproductive surgeries that treat endometriosis, fibroids, abnormal uterine bleeding, cervical insufficiency, infertility, and more.
After all her training, Dr. Womack is excited to accompany patients and families on their unique journeys – be it one of infertility, pregnancy, pelvic pain, abnormal bleeding, or just general wellness. She feels honored and humbled to be able to share in some of life’s most tender moments with her wonderful patients.
When not in the hospital, you can find Dr. Womack hiking, scrapbooking, painting, gardening, or nesting her new home. Above all, Dr. Womack enjoys quality time at home with her amazing husband Ryan and their beautiful son.
