Susan Bane, M.D., Ph.D., is a board-certified OB/GYN and holds a certificate in Theology and Health Care from the Duke Divinity School. She is a professor, Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of the American Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians and Gynecologists and a member of the Care Net Medical Board of Directors.

Dr. Bane has practiced obstetrics and gynecology for 25 years. She is currently the Regional Medical Director of four pregnancy centers in North Carolina, where she oversees the medical aspects of the Centers and cares for patients with unintended pregnancies.

Dr. Bane is a highly sought-after speaker and has spoken about women’s health and life issues in many settings. She was one of the pro-life plaintiff doctors in the recent U.S. Supreme Court chemical abortion pill case FDA v. Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine. Erik Baptist serves as Senior Counsel and Director of the Center for Life at Alliance Defending Freedom where he leads the team’s litigation and advocacy efforts to protect unborn babies and their mothers from the harms of abortion. In this leadership role, Baptist also collaborates with pro-life allies, works with Members of Congress and their staff, and engages with international, national and local media on pro-life matters. Baptist served as legal counsel for the pro-life plaintiff doctors and medical groups in FDA v. Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine.

Washingtonian magazine named Baptist as one of the Most Influential People Shaping Policy in Washington, D.C., in 2024. As a member of the D.C. and Virginia Bars, he has litigated before the U.S. Supreme Court and many federal appellate and district courts.
