Council for Life hosted their 12th Annual Run for Life 5K at the Continental Bridge in Trinity Groves on the chilly morning of Saturday, April 17. This was a very exciting and special Run as Council for Life is celebrating their 20th Year Anniversary in 2021. Thanks to generous donors and supporters, the family friendly event raised much needed funds for four outstanding beneficiaries: Christian Homes & Family Services, ChristianWorks for Children/AdoptionWorks, Embrace Waiting Children and Lifeline Children’s Services. These agencies are committed to ensuring that vulnerable children, from babies to teens, find a forever loving home. Many families touched by adoption and foster care participated in the Run, including Honorary Run Chairs, The Cathy and Tony Sisk Family.
Chaired by Young Leaders for Life Michelle Dodds and Emily Vanderstraaten, the event drew close to 250 women, men and youth from the Dallas metroplex, many of whom were pushing babies in strollers or had their dogs in tow. “We are proud to support an event that celebrates the joys and miracles of adoption and foster care,” said Dodds. “Yes, and we are equally excited to be a part of the younger generation advocating that every life is precious,” said Vanderstraaten.
