“If we are believers in Jesus Christ, we have to fight for the unborn.”
Council for Life welcomed Harrison Butker, two-time Super Bowl Champion placekicker for the Kansas City Chiefs, to share his passion for the unborn at the CFL Men’s Breakfast at the Dallas Country Club on March 4.
“It’s barbaric what’s going on, the massacre of these children,” Harrison said. “I’m fighting as much as I can and using my platform. I hope that encourages other people.”
Harrison was joined by his business partner, Austin Wright who is an entrepreneur and Catholic influencer. “My entire life has been an example of how God can use you,” he said.
Austin shared how his mother was pressured into having an abortion when pregnant with him. “I’m standing here before you because my mother was pulled aside by a woman who worked in the clinic who told her not to go through with it.”
What can men do to be pro-life?
Harrison and Austin both agreed that men need to be bold and vocal about the Life issue, regardless of criticism they may receive.
“Find that close circle of other men who are going to push you to be the man that God has created you for,” Harrison said.
Austin added, “Our society needs men. We need you to be vocal, to lean into your masculinity.”
