Abortion was ON the November Ballot

Since the overturn of Roe over two years ago, abortion proponents have been fighting relentlessly at the state level to place radical, extreme measures on the ballot. Their goal? To ensure abortion access through all 9 months of pregnancy, without limits.
A record 10 states featured ballot measures in the November 5 election to enshrine abortion rights in their state constitutions.
The results are overall highly disturbing and underscore the imperativeness that we remain strong in the battle for Life.
Abortion Rights WIN in 7 out of 10 States
Tragically, 7 of the 10 ballot measures passed. Voters approved to enshrine abortion in Arizona, Colorado, New York, Maryland, Missouri, Montana and Nevada. Voters rejected abortion measures in Florida, Nebraska (two competing measures) and South Dakota.
A state constitutional right prevails over any provision of state law, although legal challenges often follow.
Noteworthy is that in Florida, the abortion rights measure Amendment 4 garnered more than 57% support. The only reason Amendment 4 did not win is because of Florida’s 60% supermajority threshold needed for passing a constitutional amendment. In Missouri, a state considered “pro-life” with one of the strongest abortion bans in the country, abortion is now available up until fetal viability with vague language effectively allowing abortion up until birth.
The results did at least break a previous trend that provided some hope. Before this year, voters had sided with abortion rights every time the issue has been on state ballots since the Dobbs decision. In 2022 and 2023, seven states voted resoundingly to protect or restore access to abortion— California, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Montana, Ohio and Vermont.

What Now? A Massive Battle for the Pro-Life Movement | “Our Job is Just Beginning.”

The historic sweeping victory of the Republicans in the Presidential, Senate and House of Representatives is encouraging for the pro-life movement.
But the reality is that the pro-abortion state ballot measure wins dominating this election and the 2022 mid-term election are an ominous sign. Now more than ever, pro-abortion groups and policymakers at all levels of government will work relentlessly to protect and expand abortion rights and access. (See Guttmacher Institute article HERE)
Now more than ever, pro-life Americans must remain true to their position on the issue of abortion. We must stand firm to our pro-life convictions and help others who have bought into the ideals of personal bodily autonomy and the feminist sexual revolution understand the humanity of preborn children and the importance to protect their legal rights.
