Council for Life is filled with gratitude during this Christmas season for the heroic work of each of our 26 outstanding 2024 Beneficiaries.
As we anticipate the birth of our Savior with joy and wonder, we want to give special recognition to our Beneficiaries that provide Abortion Pill Reversal (APR) to save the lives of unborn babies from chemical abortion.
APR provides a powerful example of why Council for Life needs your year-end support as we gear up for the continued fight for Life in 2025.
Chemical Abortion
Chemical abortions have tragically surged since the overturn of Roe and now account for more than 60% of all abortions in the U.S. today. (See Council for Life News HERE and HERE)
Tragically, the Texas abortion ban law is ineffective in preventing chemical abortions. Dangerous chemical abortion pills are easily accessed on the internet and delivered illegally through the mail to Texas women and teens who are oblivious to the inherent risks and trauma involved. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton filed a lawsuit last week against an abortionist in New York, alleging that she illegally provided abortion drugs to a woman in Texas that killed the unborn child and caused serious health complications for the mother. Abortion Pill Reversal
We are so thankful that five 2024 CFL Pregnancy Resource Center Beneficiaries — FirstLook, Pregnancy Help 4 U, Prestonwood Pregnancy Center, Real Options and Thrive Women’s Clinic — offer Abortion Pill Reversal to a woman who immediately regrets taking the deadly chemical abortion pill mifepristone. If a woman connects with one of these PRCs and begins the APR protocol of progesterone within a 24 to 72 hour window, she can potentially have a last chance to save the life of her unborn baby.
Progesterone is a natural hormone that has been safely and effectively used to support healthy pregnancies since the 1950s. Numerous studies support the basic science that progesterone counteracts the action of mifepristone in abortion pill reversal. (See Charlotte Lozier Institute article HERE)
Heartbeat International has been at the forefront of APR through its Abortion Pill Rescue Network. This global network has nurses waiting to answer questions, via their APR hotline or live chat, and connect a woman with an APR provider in her area like our five CFL PRC Beneficiaries.
The American Association of Pro-Life OBGYNS (AAPLOG) is the world’s leading association of pro-life obstetricians and gynecologists and exists to equip medical practitioners to defend the lives of both the pregnant mother and her unborn child. AAPLOG describes APR as medically sound, safe and effective and strongly supports requiring that information about APR be given to all women considering abortion. Live Action News has shared stories of many women who have successfully been through the abortion pill reversal process and had healthy babies. Statistics released by Heartbeat International last month state that more than 6,000 babies have been saved through APR. (See Live Action article HERE and Heartbeat International statistics HERE)

Sadly, Planned Parenthood and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) are intent on undermining Abortion Pill Reversal and falsely claim that APR is “not proven in reliable medical studies”, is “not based on science” and does “not meet clinical standards.”
Earlier this year, New York Attorney General Letetia James prosecuted pregnancy resource centers in the state for sharing truthful, positive information with women about the option of APR. (See Alliance Defending Freedom article HERE)
On December 2, our own Dallas Morning News published an article citing new research findings that pregnancy resource centers, including 143 Texas PRCs, advertise abortion pill reversal which is described as “an unproven and potentially dangerous treatment.” The article states these “centers are often designed to look like health clinics” and provide “false or misleading information to steer pregnant women away from abortion.” The research group’s website ChoiceWatch.org states: “Claims regarding abortion ‘reversal’ treatment are not based on science and do not meet clinical standards.” (See Dallas Morning News article HERE)
Please pray that abortion proponents’ efforts to spread deceitful information about APR and the lifesaving care of PRCs will be thwarted.
Please pray for the truth about the safety and efficacy of APR to be revealed to any woman who desperately wants to reverse the deadly abortion pill and save the life of her baby.
