On October 22, a full house gathered for The Troutt Lecture, graciously hosted by Lisa and Kenny Troutt in their beautiful home.
What was originally planned as an evening with Charlie Kirk became instead a time to unite in honoring his legacy and recommitting to the mission he so passionately advanced.
Pastor Todd Wagner opened the evening with a beautiful prayer saying, “Lord, thank you that throughout history, you have raised up faithful men and women that have modeled for us what it means to imitate Jesus, to not live to be liked, but live to love and to speak truth and to not rejoice in unrighteousness, but to rejoice in that truth, and then to boldly proclaim that.”
Lisa Troutt reflected on her friendship with Charlie saying, “I am blessed to have been able to call Charlie a friend. And even though he was half my age, he inspired me as much or more than anyone I’ve ever known.”
She went on to say, “I can almost hear him tonight reminding us of one of his favorite convictions that our generation must decide whether we will be the ones who defend what is good, true and beautiful, or will we be the ones to watch it disappear? Charlie chose to defend it. And because he did, countless young men and women found the courage to stand up for life, to think critically and to ground their beliefs in timeless truths.”
Charlie’s close friends and colleagues—Kristan Hawkins, President of Students for Life of America, and Stacy Sheridan, Senior Development Director at Turning Point USA—shared heartfelt reflections on his courageous vision and lasting impact on the pro-life movement.
