Thank you to the many of you who joined us for Life Lessons! Park Cities Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall was filled with CFL guests eager to hear the message of our outstanding speaker and pro-life apologist Scott Klusendorf, President of Life Training Institute.
With clarity, passion and humor, Scott made a compelling case for life in the post-Roe abortion debate. He acknowledged that we understandably feel helpless and discouraged to engage in the abortion conversation after the Dobbs decision. He explained why he believes the pro-life side has lost nearly every state abortion challenge even in deep red states since the overturn of Roe:
“Though it’s very good news Roe v. Wade has been overturned, the worldview assumptions that make abortion plausible to millions of our fellow citizens are deeply entrenched in this culture…we have a fight on our hands…that means all of us…are pro-life apologists.”
— Scott Klusendorf
He equipped us to communicate persuasively and defend our pro-life convictions in a reasoned way in a culture that assumes the unborn are not human and reduces all moral issues to mere preferences. He posed and answered three questions: (1) What is the Unborn? (2) What makes Humans Valuable? and (3) What is our Duty? He then took us through his One-Minute Pro-Life Defense and SLED analysis about how Differences of Size, Level of development, Environment and degree of Dependency are egregiously flawed, senseless reasons to justify the killing of unborn life in the womb but not out:
“The science of embryology is clear that from the earliest stages of development, you were a distinct, living, and whole human being…And there is no essential difference between the embryoyou once were and the adult you are today that justifies killing you at that earlier stage of development.”
