January 19, 2025 is Sanctity of Human Life Sunday

Please dedicate Sunday, January 19, to encouraging your congregation to stand boldly to protect every preborn child from the harm and destruction of abortion. “The Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life.” Job 33:4

We have prepared a printable flyer on Sanctity of Human Life Sunday for you to share with your congregation along with an extensive list of pregnancy resources in the DFW area. Please feel free to add your Church logo to the top corner of the flyer.

Why is it Important to Recognize Sanctity of Human Life Sunday?

It is deeply shocking that 30 babies are killed by chemical abortion in the DFW area every day, despite our Texas state laws prohibiting abortion.

Dozens of Texas women leave the state to obtain surgical abortions in states where abortion is legal.

Even after the overturn of Roe, nearly 1 million babies are killed by abortion each year in the U.S.

66 million abortion deaths cast a dark moral stain across our nation. Abortion advocates relentlessly work to enshrine abortion rights in the laws and constitutions of our states and nation. We pray that protection of preborn human beings becomes a priority within your Church.

Thousands of North Texas women and men suffer in silence the devastating emotional and spiritual pain of their abortion experience. Your Church is uniquely positioned to compassionately and intentionally share the love, forgiveness and blood of Jesus with them. We pray that post-abortion healing and restoration becomes a priority within your Church.

How Can the Church Honor Sanctity of Life Sunday?

Below are suggestions for how your Church can honor preborn babies, mothers, fathers and families on Sanctity of Human Life Sunday, January 19, and throughout the year. Council for Life would be honored to assist you with any of these options.

  • Dedicate your Church services on January 19, 2025:
    • to the protection of preborn human beings with preaching, testimonies and prayer.

 

  • Courageously proclaim that:
    • God sovereignly and wisely creates all human beings, knows the circumstances of every child’s conception, is faithfully present with all women who experience unwanted pregnancies, freely gives His redemptive love and healing in Jesus Christ to all who seek Him in their abortion grief.
    • Satan seeks to destroy Abundant Life found in Jesus by destroying preborn human life.
    • God designed sex as a gift within the marriage of a man and a woman and that sex produces a human life to be valued and protected for God’s glory and our good.
    • Although abortion is illegal in Texas, chemical abortion pills terminate the lives of more than 30 babies every day in the Dallas Ft. Worth area and endanger women’s lives.

 

  • Courageously state on your Church website, in your weekly bulletin and throughout the Church building:
    • “Pregnant and need help?”
    • “Have you experienced abortion?”
    • Offer a contact email and phone number for counseling and help.
    • Ensure that your Church is the first call for help and comfort when a Church or community member experiences an unwanted pregnancy or an abortion.

 

  • Specifically pray for:
    • Your congregation to believe that every child in the womb is made by God through his powerful and sovereign act in creation.
    • All Americans to be united in their belief in the sanctity of preborn human life and for our nation to love and protect every unborn child from abortion.
    • God to mercifully heal our nation from the holocaust of more than 66 million abortion deaths and the suffering of more than 100 million citizens who have experienced abortion.
    • The end of chemical and surgical abortion in our nation.

 

  • Present testimonies from women:
    • Who have chosen life in an unwanted pregnancy and from those who have chosen abortion. Council for Life can assist in providing testimonial speakers.

 

  • Invite life-affirming agencies and Council for Life to:
    • Present an information table with resources during your Church services.
    • Educate your congregation on their work and the vast, free resources available for women, babies and families.

 

  • Offer a book study on a pro-life apologetics book. Several Council for Life speakers have written excellent options:

    • Fighting for Life by Lila Rose

How Can Our Church Develop a Life Ministry?

  • Adopt and financially support a life-affirming agency, such as a Pregnancy Resource Center, Maternity Home, Foster and Adoption Agency or Youth Mentoring and Life Skills Agency.

 

 

  • Encourage Church staff and your congregation to volunteer with life-affirming agencies.

 

  • Teach Church classes for children and adults about the science of preborn human development, God’s design for sex as a gift for marriage and the sacredness of marriage and preborn life. Council for Life program educators can assist with the classes.

 

  • Teach Church classes for youth and adults on the danger and increased use of chemical abortion pills and the availability of the pills online. Council for Life program educators can assist with the classes.

 

  • Develop an abortion recovery hope and healing ministry within the church. Council for Life can assist with the ministry.

 

  • Host mentorship and parenting skills classes for mothers, fathers and families on your Church campus. Council for Life program educators can assist with the classes.

 

  • Develop a Churchwide prayer team to pray for our nation to unite to protect preborn babies and bring an end to abortion.

 

 

We are grateful for your passion for Jesus and your compassion for vulnerable preborn babies and mothers. Your courage to “speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves” will save lives.
