A story about 2024 Council for Life Beneficiary, Prestonwood Pregnancy Center
Meet Anna—a courageous woman whose journey reflects the life-changing impact of Prestonwood Pregnancy Center (PPC). Her story is a testament to the power of compassion, support and belief in the sanctity of life.
Anna walked through the doors of Prestonwood Pregnancy Center at one of the most vulnerable moments in her life. Overwhelmed by confusion and facing pressure from the baby’s father to terminate her pregnancy, Anna’s past was filled with regret from a previous abortion. She had also battled opioid addiction and survived several overdoses. Despite being three years sober, Anna felt isolated and unsure about her future.
When a nurse visited with Anna, she reminded her, “Others can very easily stand back and tell us what is best for us, but only we can ultimately decide that. You get to decide what you want, no one else.” The nurse’s words resonated deeply with Anna. She felt empowered to make her own choices for the first time in a long time.
Upon seeing her baby during an ultrasound, Anna’s decision became clear— she chose life. Anna joyfully gave birth to a baby boy and expressed that her baby felt like a fresh beginning after years of struggle. “Ever since I chose life for this baby, God has blessed me in many ways,” she said.
Anna’s story is just one example of the countless lives transformed by PPC.
PPC has seen a steep increase in the number of abortion-minded women seeking their services in the wake of the post-Roe landscape. The demand has stretched the center’s capacity, with many women traveling long distances to get the care they need.
Because of this dramatic surge in demand, PPC is extending their services to a new Fort Worth location.
Council for Life is proud and honored to award PPC a 2024 grant that will support their expansion. The funds will allow PPC to hire a dedicated Nurse Manager and Training Coordinator at PPC’s new location, strategically positioned near Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (SWBTS). This critical addition to the team will enable PPC to better serve the growing number of women in Tarrant and surrounding counties in desperate need of support, care and guidance.
The Nurse Manager and Training Coordinator will ensure that each woman who walks through PPC’s doors receives the highest level of medical, emotional and spiritual care. The Nurse Manager and Training Coordinator will also play a crucial role in mentoring and educating SWBTS seminary students to prepare these future church leaders to engage the issue of abortion in their ministries with compassion, understanding and respect for the sanctity of life.
With each new day, PPC will bring hope to women and families in the Fort Worth area. Through the unwavering support of Council for Life donors, PPC is not just saving lives— PPC is empowering women to choose life by restoring their faith and providing them with vital resources to build a better future for themselves and their families.
